Why I built Bible Song Pro (and gave it away)
The open-source church presentation engine for OBS Studio started as a frustration with fragile lyric setups. Here's the story.
I lost count of how many services started late because lyrics were buried in browser tabs and a single laptop was doing audio, visuals and streaming at once. Bible Song Pro is the fix I wished existed.
What it does
- Auto-retrieves lyrics and syncs them to your setlist.
- Runs client-side inside OBS — no subscription, no lock-in.
- Built for volunteers, not engineers.
Why free and open-source
The churches that need it most are the ones that can't pay for enterprise software. Open-source means a community can maintain it, extend it and trust it. That's the signal carried clean — technology that gets out of the way and stays owned by the people using it.
